The Official Game of Vatican II: Organ Hero

organ_heroI have recently joined the masses that, as soon as work is done and dishes are washed, exchange their dreary day to day lives for the life of a famous Rock Star. All thanks to the ‘Guitar Hero’ and ‘Rock Band’ games for the XBox 360, the PS3, the Nintendo Wii and even for the Nintendo DS.

I am playing the ‘Aerosmith’ version; it is somewhat easier than the other incarnations of the game, and the music is somewhat more bearable compared to that in the other games. However, it’s still not the kind of music that I like to listen to on a daily basis.

Thanks to Jeff Miller, I can now look forward to an exciting game that will -without a doubt- prove to be a huge hit among priests and bishops, and will be a must-buy for most monasteries and convents: Organ Hero I!

Here is part of Jeff’s review:

Organ Hero I is the ultimate in rhythm video games where you are not limited to just a few frets like in other games but row after row of keyboards. During game play a scrolling flow of colored notes appear one by one along with the music. After you see the note quickly press the proper note on the keyboard that is related to the color code.

If you are Catholic you might just think “Hey, didn’t the organ go out with Vatican II?” Well not quite, Sacrosanctum Concilium actually said “The pipe organ is to be held in high esteem in the Latin Church, for it is the traditional musical instrument, the sound of which can add a wonderful splendor to the Church’s ceremonies and powerfully lifts up men’s minds to God and higher things.” In fact Organ Hero I is the official game of the Second Vatican Council.
